I know that no one read this, so it's kind of funny that I am posting at all. I am taking a break from working on my first year film script, which has turned into a campy comedy docudrama. It makes sense that I would write something so crazy, when my favorite directors are also quite insane. I just sent an email to a bunch of classmates, friends and family to see what their reaction is. Probably not the smartest idea, but I want to get a few different points of view. Hope its not all bad. Hope there are salvageable parts. Hope the structure is salvageable, as I don't have time to change it again...or do I.

Why are we bailing out corporations? What happened to Free Trade?

Those who believe in Capitalism, in "Free Trade" and the "Invisible Hands" of competition, will note that the governments bailout of the auto industry goes against all of these notions. The reason that these companies need to be bailed out is that they make gas-guzzling vehicles that no one wants to buy anymore. Also, it is not sustainable for working people to buy a new car every few years (or a computer!). These industries are way behind the times and need to re-evaluate and change their companies to fit the market and the concerns of their potential customers. By bailing them out, we are basically giving them our tax dollars as a prize for running the worst business. What do you think?

Casting Call for my film!

Casting Call for Student Film (please email to anyone you know who might be interested!) Shoot dates: January 17, 18 and 19 (Sat, Sun, Mon) Description of film: Docudrama combining protest footage, animation and live-action shot on 16mm film. The film is about police oppression at protests and the courage it takes to participate in these dangerous situations. I intend to enter into major international and local film festivals. I have been directing and producing films for ten years and this is for my first year film for the MFA program at SF State. Food and travel expenses will be paid for.
